I was around, ten years old at the time, old enough to realise that the Beatles were going through a hairy stage and that my parents generation was distinctly uncomfortable with it. The hairy era had a big effect on us youngsters. Wigwams in Wales for the few a monthly visit to Holland and Barret for most of us. And the men on the moon….. well only in America. The myth now is that only the Americans can save us from Armageddon. Long live Bruce!
More recent history is littered with good news stories. The fall of the Berlin Wall, last years Pennsylvania Miners’ Story, the release of Nelson Mandela from Robin Island. Stories which most of us can remember if we heard them in the first place.
